Coming up at Health Collective: Pride 2021 Edition

Health Collective is BUSY, BUSY, BUSY this June for Pride Month! Check out what’s going on:

First OutFilmCT’s LGBTQ+ Film Festival is happening NOW. Opening night was June 4 and the festival will continue through Sunday June 14. Check out their website to see all the fantastic films, both virtually and in-person at Cinestudio.

This Thursday, June 10 at 7pm, join us with the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter to learn about the 10 Signs of Alzheimer’s for the LGBTQ+ Community. Register in advance here.

On Saturday, June 12, we’re hosting the 27th Annual Queer Prom. Like last year, Queer Prom will feature a live DJ stream on Twitch, as well as in-person professional prom photos, prom favor gift bags, and an outdoor prom “hangout” with music. Everything is free! Masks will be required EXCEPT for during the photos. This event is for high school students only. Register in advance for photos here.

Join us June 17 for another installment of our LGBTQ+ Experiences with Religion series on Zoom, featuring Tony Ferraiolo, who is not only a great speaker and transgender healthcare literacy trainer, but was also featured in a movie about his transition called A Self-Made Man.

The next week, we’ll be partnering with West Hartford Pride, Apex Community Care, APNH, and Gilead for a Zoom presentation on Erasing HIV Stigma Through Action.

Later that week, on June 24 at 7pm, our final LGBTQ+ Experiences With Religion installment will feature Dawn Ennis. Stay tuned on our social media for more info on this soon.

Toward the end of the month, we’re hosting an HIV Testing Day event on June 28 from 12pm-8pm. Call us at 860-278-4163 to schedule an appointment.
