You’ve probably heard about Monkeypox in the news or on social media. There’s a lot of information out there, so we’ve got a quick summary for you of the most important points you should know.

1. Risk to the general public is currently considered low.

2. It’s spread through close personal contact, like sex. It can also be spread by close face-to-face contact or prolonged exposure to contaminated clothes or sheets.

3. Monkeypox has been detected in the U.S. Cases have been identified among men who have sex with men.

4. Seek medical care if you develop a new, unexplained rash. Other symptoms include fever, muscle aches, headache, and swollen lymph nodes.
