LGBTQ+ Suicide Prevention Resources

In a mental health emergency, LGBTQ+ folks need resources that understand. Below are some resources you can use if you or a friend are experiencing suicidal ideation.

988 is the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. This dialing code is available to everyone in the United States.

The Trevor Project provides talk, text, or chat support to young LGBTQ+ folks experiencing mental health crisis. Contact them at thetrevorproject.org/gethelp, text “START” to 678-678, or call 1-866-488-7386.

The Trans Lifeline provides trans peer support for transgender individuals in crisis. Call them at 877-565-8860.

In an emergency where someone is about to or has hurt themselves, please call 911 immediately.
