The Hartford Gay and Lesbian Health Collective welcomes our new Executive Director, David Grant!
David Grant began his journey in Hartford in 2018 as a VISTA member for the North Hartford Promise Zone. In this position he worked to provide resources to residents in the Clay Arsenal, Upper Albany, and Northeast neighborhoods. He joined the Mayor’s Office in 2019 as an Executive Assistant and LGBTQ+ Liaison where he oversaw the city’s efforts to honor and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. In 2020, he transitioned to the Hartford Court of Common Council and served as Chief Administrative Officer championing efforts like Universal Basic Income and the city’s Charter Revision process. In 2022, he left the City of Hartford to serve as Special Assistant to the Superintendent of Hartford Public Schools before ultimately leaving to become the Executive Director of the Hartford Gay and Lesbian Health Collective. David holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Connecticut as well as certificates in Human Rights, Special Events Management, and LGBT Studies. He is also currently working towards a Doctorate in Law and Policy from Northeastern. David volunteers on several boards and grant making committees and enjoys spending time with his husband and their rescue dog Thunder.
